Central Valley School District

Parents should always have a role in their children’s education – make your voice heard!
There is a School Board election for the Central Valley School District on November 7, 2023. Beginning October 20, voters can mail or deposit their ballot in the official drop box.
Central Valley School District residents will have the opportunity to vote for one candidate for each of the three School Board positions.

For District 1, voters will choose between Jeff Brooks and incumbent Cindy McMullen.

For District 3, voters will choose between Stephanie Jerdon and incumbent Debra Long.

For District 4, voters will choose between Anniece Barker and incumbent Keith Clark.

District 1

Brooks is a father, Navy veteran, and physical therapist.

 

Brooks believes the School Board should be looking at problems from a parent and student perspective, not an internal administrative viewpoint.

While serving on the School Board, McMullen hired a new superintendent focused on the “I, You, We Belong” initiative. 

 

McMullen approved a new curriculum for children in sexual health, math, social studies, and English.

District 3

Jerdon is a mother, Air Force veteran, and former teacher.

 

Jerdon believes parents, teachers, students, and community members should feel heard by the school district. 

 

Jerdon believes transparency in schools should be a top priority. 

 

Jerdon is endorsed by the Spokane Republican Party and Family Policy Institute in Washington.

Long is an accounting manager and incumbent School Board member.

Barker is a mother and small business owner. 

 

Barker wants to prioritize academic focus so students will be top achievers in math, science, reading, and language arts. 

 

Barker wants to ensure parents are heard by the School Board and build trust. 

 

Barker is endorsed by the Spokane GOP, Informed Parents of Washington, and Parents for Safe Schools.

Clark is a veterinarian, the incumbent School Board member, and a grandfather.
